Opal Cottage is set in a row of stone cottages in the traditional working fishing village of Amble. It makes a great base for exploring Northumbria's coastline as well as being a walkers' and birdwatchers' paradise. The cottage backs onto the harbour with views of Warkworth Castle, and it is less than 2 minutes' walk from safe sandy beaches and rock pools. To the south lies Coquet Island with its lighthouse and bird sanctuary that can be seen via the local boat trips.
