Location; Burley Village, four miles to Ringwood, six to Brockenhurst and about a twenty minute drive to the beaches at Highcliffe Castle. Quietly situated amongst a group of village cottages that line a network of single track gravel lanes. The local ponies will keep an eye on the comings and goings at Mast Cottage, leave the garden gate open for a second and our four legged friends will soon invite themselves in. The open forest is about a ten minute walk and the landscape offers a delightful mixture of heathland, ancient woodland and dappled glades.
NOTE; One small dog by arrangement only, but not during the months of July and August

Mast cottage ( not a sailing reference, but the ancient commoning term of 'Mast' which means the right to turn out pigs on the open forest ) is an traditionally styled, partly attached cottage. On the doorstep; A few minutes walk to the village shops that include a Post Office and a good village grocery. The Queens Head pub and Burley Inn offer food plus in addition to several cafes. Village petrol station. Only a ten minute walk to the open forest, super walks in a varitey of settings, from a simple stroll to a serious ramble.
Recreation ; Hire a bike from the village hire shop, or saddle up for a quiet hack from Burley Manor riding stables. Golf available at Burley Golf Club being a forest course, watch out for those ponies on the green. Fishing at Turf Croft
Brockenhurst, Lymington and Beaulieu are all within easy reach.Sea fishing from Mudeford quay, with boat trips over to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Watersports Courses, Water Sports Equipment, Windsurfing, Power Boat Courses, available from Ocean Sports based in Christchurch Bay, Waterskiing at Ringwood Go Ape at Verwood
