Location; Border Cottage is situated along a quiet residential lane in the village of Sway, on the southern edge of the New Forest, four miles from the coast at Lymington and the same distance to Brockenhurst.The holiday cottage is well placed for daily forays to the local village shops and there is a choice of local pubs and restaurants. The open forest is within a ten minute walk, the beautiful areas of Longslade and Setthorns were used by the Victorian author Captain Marryatt as the backdrop to his historic novel "Children of the New Forest". There are extensive designated cycle tracks from Setthorns to Holmsely and Wilverley.Sway has a mainline railway station, with trains to Bournemouth, Weymouth and London Waterloo.
Property description; A pretty little attached cottage complete with white picket fence and arched doorway. Newly built and carefully designed to incorporate many period features, combined with quality fixtures and fittings. The ground floor is completely open plan for informal living and the cottage offers light and bright holiday accommodation. Lovely in the summer with the French doors and stable doors open to the garden, warm and cosy in the winter with a wood burning stove for snug evenings around the fire.

Forest walking. The closest spot is through the gate at the back of the garden and a walk along the road to access Setthorns Inclosure, between a ten and fifiteen minute walk. Just beyond this point, is Longslade, a sylvan swathe of lawns and copses, very popular with the ponies and foals.
Nearest Shop, A Londis village shop, newsagents, Post Office and Chemist. Butcher with award winning sausages !! All to be found in Sway village, about a ten minute walk from Border Cottage.
Nearest little Towns. Brockenhurst is about four miles distant as is Lymington. Lymington has a Charter market on a Saturday, a M&S food hall, plus there is a Waitrose and Tesco.
Nearest rail station, Sway, or Brockenhurst .
Local eating; In Sway ,The Hare and Hounds, Sway Manor, The Nurses Cottage, the String of Horses Hotel.
