From Mineshop, a footpath leads through the fields and woodland to the beach at Crackington Haven (1 mile away and 1.5 miles by road). Here you can enjoy excellent surfing and swimming or explore the many rock pools abounding with crabs, prawns, small fish and all types of shells. The magnificent cliff land on either side of the beach is owned by the National Trust. There is plenty of scope for walking, both on the south west peninsula coastal path and through the wooded valleys.
