North West England cottages 2 holiday cottages in Lancashire
In Lancashire
the Ribble Valley area offers great walking in the moorland of the Forest
of Bowland, along with pleasant countryside along the river. The town
of Clitheroe is the centre of the area and makes a good place for a
cottage holiday, handy for both rural attractions like Pendle Hill and
the glitzier charms of Blackpool.
A more scenic alternative is the village
of Chipping, in the Forest of Bowland itself. Its surroundings have been classed an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are no shortage of walks.
Manchester and the towns around it are these days famously vibrant
cultural and entertainment centres. They'll more than repay a day trip if you're
staying in the area.
The same goes, of course, for Liverpool, 2008 European city of culture. You'll
find a great deal to entertain you, whether it's the Beatles or the
great Victorian heritage that attracts you.
