West Country cottages and holidays in the South West
 The
South West of England, popularly known as the West Country, offers a
unique and diverse range of attractions for the holiday visitor. With
Britain's mildest climate, many of its best beaches, an abundance of
pretty West Country villages, and scenery ranging from dreamy farmland
and leafy forest to wild moors and towering cliffs, it's no surprise
that the West Country is England's most popular holiday cottage destination.
 The
West Country is made up of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset, which
includes the former county of Avon. We also include the Channel Islands

Each county has its particular attractions including beautiful beaches,
historic sites, glorious gardens, quaint villages, bustling towns and
the 'Oh so English' West Country countryside. There is plenty to attract
the active holiday visitor too; some exceptional coastal and moorland
walking, the UK's surfing meccas in Cornwall, horse riding and bike
riding on the moors and no shortage of special attractions to keep the
kids amused. West Country seaside resorts can be pretty full in the
summer holidays, but at other times you will be pleasantly surprised
by the quiet roads and peaceful countryside.
