Tate

If history is your thing then Sherborne
Castle in Dorset is worth a visit. The castle was built in 1594

and furniture. The gardens are worth visiting in their own right with
20 acres of landscaped gardens around a 50 acre lake. Check the site
for their current special events too.
Paignton Zoo
Environmental Park
in Paignton, Devon is a charity dedicated to conserving global wildlife.
It is home to some of the world's most endangered plants and animals
set out in special environmental 'zones'.
Step back in time with a trip aboard the West
Somerset Railway, this steam line connects Bishops Lydeard, near
Taunton in Somerset to the holiday town and seaside resort of Minehead.
The kids (big and small!) will love it.
For a more contemplative experience we'd reccomend a visit to Buckfast
Abbey
to see the beauty of the Abbey Church and visit a living monastery.
Buckfast Abbey, in Devon, is the home of a Roman Catholic Community
of Benedictine monks and dates back to 1018. Buckfast now welcomes almost
half a million visitors each year.
