map for holiday cottages in central englandA holiday cottage in Worcestershire will set you up with some marvellous walking country – the Malvern Hills, the woodlands of the Forest of Wyre, and those outliers of the Welsh mountains, the Long Mynd, the Wrekin and the eastern slopes of the Black Mountains around the border town of Hay-on-Wye. There are also miles of waymarked footpaths that will allow you to explore the typically English farming landscape of the area.

For the less energetic there is the cathedral city of Worcester, the industrial heritage of Bromsgrove and Redditch, the market towns of Pershore, Droitwich Spa, Tenbury Wells and Evesham, the Severn, Teme and Avon valleys. Or spend some time browsing the famous bookshops of Hay-on-Wye.

The southern part of the county is still in the Cotswolds and the village of Broadway is often cited as one of the most typical and picturesque of the Cotswold villages, with its beautiful mellow Cotswold stone buildings.
