NEW ROUTE TO MOUNT SNOWDON SUMMIT
Walkers now have a choice of 6 paths to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales.

The Watkin Path was begun 110 years ago, but never finished. Now the National Trust has finally completed it, as part of a land management project.

The path approaches the mountain from the south, taking hikers through beautiful oak woodland. It's still a strenuous trek, but the NT has also built a 2-mile farm trail for families with young children.

Frank Gehry, the Canadian designer of Bilbao's Guggenheim Museum, will have a hand in the ambitious scheme. Plans include the "Seafront for All", which will stretch from Brighton Marina to Shoreham Harbour.
